Revenue
in context.

The benchmarks.

What other wallets actually earn
Benchmark · 01
MetaMask
EVM · L1 leader
Monthly active users~30M
Cumulative swap rev.~$325M
Annualized revenue~$37.8M
Swap fee0.875%
Revenue / MAU / yr~$1.26
The cap: one large, mature wallet with multi-chain reach earns ~$1.26 per active user per year. That ratio is the ceiling Deviant should anchor to.
Benchmark · 02
Phantom
Solana-first · multichain
Monthly active users~17–20M
2025 revenue~$79M
Peak weekly rev.$44M (Jan '25)
Annual swap volume~$20B
Revenue / MAU / yr~$4.65
When a wallet rides a hot chain with active token speculation, revenue per user is 3–4× MetaMask. Speculation, not infrastructure, drives the spike.

Outlook 2026Specialize or die
Independent wallets are being squeezed by exchange-affiliated wallets. Deviant's defensible niche is BCH-native and CashToken-native — a market exchanges ignore.

Three scenarios. Year 3.

Modeled · Year 3 ARR
Scenario · 01
The bear
BCH stays sideways. CashToken adoption stays niche. Deviant earns a loyal but small base.
BCH wallet users~5,000 MAU
Active token founders~150
Monthly swap volume~$200K
Swap fee revenue~$12K/yr
Founder marketing share~$8K/yr
Pro subscriptions~$15K/yr

~$45K Annual recurring revenue
Scenario · 02
The base case
Deviant becomes the default CashToken wallet. Capture ~20–30% of an emerging BCH token economy.
BCH wallet users~50K MAU
Active token founders~1,500
Monthly swap volume~$5M
Swap fee revenue~$300K/yr
Founder marketing share~$180K/yr

Scenario · 03
The bull
BCH catches a cycle. CashTokens find a viral use-case (stablecoins, micropayments, memecoins). Deviant is the gateway.
BCH wallet users~500K MAU

What could break the model.

BCH stays cold.

Active addresses are at a six-year low. The base layer must heat up for any token-layer revenue model to scale. Deviant's revenue is downstream of BCH's network health.

Bigger wallets enter.

If MetaMask or Phantom add CashTokens support, the addressable market collapses. The window to become the default BCH-token wallet may be short.

Capital lock-in friction.

Unlike ERC-20, every Deviant token requires locking real BCH. This is the security model — but also a real onboarding friction competitors won't have.

Defensive moats

What protects the upside.

Standard authorship.

Being the author of the open metadata standard is the strongest non-financial moat. Even fee-free competing wallets would interoperate with — not replace — the standard.

The MetaMask parallel.

MetaMask won not by being the best wallet but by being the only one that made ERC-20 usable. CashTokens in standard BCH wallets behave identically — a recruitment funnel built into the protocol.

Floor-value tokens.

BCH-backed tokens cannot go to zero. In a post-rug-pull market, this is a marketable trust differentiator no Ethereum-based wallet can offer.

What these numbers actually are.

The scenarios above are order-of-magnitude estimates, not forecasts. They are built by anchoring revenue-per-user benchmarks from MetaMask ($1.26/MAU/yr) and Phantom ($4.65/MAU/yr) to plausible BCH wallet adoption ranges. Deviant has six revenue streams to MetaMask's one or two, so the per-user revenue ceiling can plausibly be higher — but only if the streams actually fire.

The bear case is the most likely outcome on raw probability. The base case requires Deviant to become the default BCH-token wallet. The bull case requires BCH itself to find a viral use case during the window Deviant is the default wallet for it. None of this is in your control — but the architecture, standard authorship, and execution quality are.

The most important number on this page is not the revenue. It is ~250 — the total existing CashTokens. Whoever builds the canonical wallet for the next 25,000 captures the category. That's the actual prize.
