What you don't run vs Lightning

  • A persistent Lightning node (daemon + private channel state)
  • A watchtower service to catch a cheating counterparty
  • "Stay online" to defend — or lose funds to a stale broadcast

  • Two light wallets (one key signs BTC + BCH)
  • The BCH chain remembers the state — public, permanent, unloseable
  • Anyone can watch the board — permissionless watchtower

Every Send / Receive is a real on-chain update of a BchChannelBoard covenant on chipnet (both-signed, strictly monotonic — a stale state can never overwrite a newer one). The channel's BTC value sits in a 2-of-2 on Bitcoin and settles there; BCH only records the state. This is T6 — the Lightning model with its weakest layer (the private node) replaced by a public chain. ADR-0046 · spec §16.
