hermes: design note for mail at BNS names and the silentmode.st gateway
local@name.tld resolves through a signed-manifest mail block to a Nostr pubkey and travels as NIP-17; the only SMTP is at the edge. Outside mail reaches a name by appending .silentmode.st (wildcard MX), opt-in per name; outbound goes through a gateway identity with DKIM on the parent domain.
