Snapshot 0195 — docs-by-domain reorg (snapshot index + wiki branches)

Date: 2026-07-07 Track: Infra / knowledge-base navigability Status: ✅ Complete. Additive + low-churn: no snapshot renamed/moved, no Parameters/ moved, no shells/app/ code touched.

Makes the knowledge base navigable by domain. Builds on the prior groundwork (scripts/build-snapshot-index.mjs + a slug-bucketed snapshots/INDEX.md).

Phase 1 — snapshot index is now a real lookup tool

• Extended snapshot frontmatter to domain: + summary: + optional tags:. Backfilled all 224 snapshots (a one-time script prepended the block using the slug-bucket as the domain guess and the H1 as the summary; then every domain was reviewed and hand-corrected — e.g. the T6/interchain track → cross-chain, CDP/MBA/stablecoin instruments → fiatm, CitizenToken/Ballot → governance). Word-boundary matching replaced substring matching so pari no longer matches "comparison" etc. 224/224 tagged, 0 uncategorised.
• Enhanced build-snapshot-index.mjs: it reads the frontmatter and emits a greppable INDEX.md — a top Quick-find table (№ · domain · tags · summary) for Ctrl-F, plus per-domain sections ([NNNN-slug](file) — summary · tags). Header still says "generated — don't hand-edit; fix the tag + rerun." Duplicate snapshot numbers (0018/0019/0022/0027/0053/0054/0057/0062/0083/0084/0144/0145/0153/0164) are noted and disambiguated by slug.
• Domain counts: wallet 54 · asm 34 · fiatm 58 · cross-chain 18 · games-tote 12 · governance 25 · onramp 4 · infra 20.

Phase 2 — wiki restructured into domain branches

• Moved the ~25 flat reference docs into wiki/<domain>/ folders via git mv (history preserved): wallet/ asm/ fiatm/ governance/ games-tote/ platform/ infra/ (plus cross-chain/ and onramp/ index stubs that route into Parameters/ + snapshots).
• wiki/index.md is now a router (domain table + global refs + source-of-truth + known-divergence + update-protocol). glossary.md, decisions.md, architecture.md, asset-landscape.md stay global at the root; code-map.md stays (generated, gitignored).
• Each wiki/<domain>/index.md = current state + "how to add here" + links to its snapshots (INDEX.md), Parameters/ specs (Phase 3), and code.
• The old running status narrative is preserved verbatim in wiki/infra/status-archive.md.
• Fixed every intra-wiki link the moves touched (root→repo ../→../../, links to root-globals, and some pre-existing repo-root-relative links). A link checker reports 170 relative links, 0 broken. No living doc outside wiki//snapshots/ referenced the moved paths; historical snapshot bodies were intentionally left unchanged.

Phase 3 — Parameters linkage

Each wiki domain index links to its matching Parameters/ folder(s) (ASM → Parameters/ASM DEX + OrbitalSwapASM_Potidaea + DEX_Anthemus, FIATm → Parameters/FIATm, governance → Parameters/Athenae Politeia, etc.). Parameters/ was not moved or merged — it stays the source-spec layer.

Phase 4 — durability

• CLAUDE.md "Documentation conventions" updated to the realized structure (frontmatter schema with summary/tags, the domain-folder list, router + per-domain index.md).
• Generator reruns clean.

Convention going forward

New snapshot → add domain: + summary: (+ optional tags:) frontmatter and a domain-prefixed slug, then node scripts/build-snapshot-index.mjs. New reference doc → right wiki/<domain>/ folder + a line in that folder's index.md.
