f76ca4f9f4 Theseus 0.3.132: layout revert, Nostr per-site identities, Mail as sidebar quicklink, connector token stays persistent
Startpage layout reverted to the pre-0.3.131 shape. 0.3.131's full-page-
height sidebar was a mistake — slots in a short strip under a hero at
the top, cards and slots sharing one row of panels at the same height,
is what matches the design. .page/.main-col/.sidebar structure dropped,
hero back as a body sibling of .homepage, slots-list back to repeat(3,
72px) with minSlots=9. Two of the user's own tweaks baked into the
defaults: .section.chromeless on the left column so slot icons float
on the page background instead of sitting in a boxed panel, and
defaultState().iconSize = "large" (60 px tiles).

Game.X in the SM cards (replaces SilentMode.X in its slot, stub
description + a built-in gamepad brand mark until game.x goes live).
SilentMode.X moved to the quick-links strip as the 5th slot. moveItem
now strips the pinned-slot anchor when a q item moves to sm — a link
dragged onto the cards used to flip back on the next render because
its slot number was still set.

Nostr NIP-07 signer grows per-site identities (0.1.0 → 0.1.1). First
approval modal picks between the Hermes identity (one npub for DMs
and public notes, the one published as the np record on your BNS
name) and a site-specific HKDF-derived npub (unique per origin, so
Nostr clients can't cross-correlate your activity). The chooser shows
both npubs so the user sees what each button reveals. Grants without
a stored profileId (migrated from 0.3.131) default to the Hermes
identity so existing approvals keep behaving the same.
lib/hermes.js:nostrKeyFromRootForOrigin HKDFs with info
silentmode/nostr-origin/v1/<origin> over the existing 32-byte
messengerRoot. main.js _nostrAPI methods take {profileId, origin};
signer cache per profile.

Silent Mode Mail retired as an extension — now a Sidebar quicklink
(id: silentmail). Its 0.1.0 panel iframed mail.silentmode.st, which
sends X-Frame-Options: DENY; the browser rendered the block page and
STILL fired the iframe's load event, so the 5 s "did it embed?"
watchdog saw it as loaded and the panel stayed black. The whole
extension was just a landing page with an Open Mail button — exactly
what a sidebar quicklink does, without taking a panel slot or an
Extensions row. migrateAegisRename auto-retires any existing
extensions/mail/ to addons-backups/mail-migrated-<stamp>/ on first
boot of this Theseus; "mail" added to the first-party reserved-ids
list so a community add-on can't claim the id.

Claude connector 0.2.1 → 0.2.2: the bearer token no longer rotates on
every server stop. The old stop() generated a fresh token every time
Theseus quit, the panel toggled off, or a 0.3.X install replaced the
app — the Connect button wrote the new token to ~/.claude.json but
any already-running Claude Code or Claude Desktop process held the
previous token in memory and only re-reads config on launch, so /mcp
reconnect kept sending the stale bearer and the server rejected it
forever. Infinite loop: install Theseus upgrade, click Connect, MCP
still 401, close Claude, open Claude, install another upgrade a day
later, repeat. The explicit Revoke token button still rotates for
users who want fresh keys; everything else is persistent.

Sidebar panel apps blank to about:blank after 2 min of being closed to
free their render tree (iframes, media, listeners). Fast reopen within
the window still reuses the loaded page.

Light theme palette flip under body.light — the full set of
--ink / --mut / --card / --line tokens flip plus hero + card
translucent panels switch to light-glass, so hero titles, SM card
text, slot labels and the ".bch" tld read correctly on the light
background preset instead of as pale ghosts.

b4cea7b83f Theseus 0.3.130: startpage sidebar fills the panel, searchbar stops auto-growing, Store Claude Desktop detected
Startpage sidebar is now a real left column that starts at the Theseus
title's top edge and runs the full page height. The slot grid is 3
columns stretched to the full sidebar width, with enough rows to cover
the sidebar vertically (count derived from the main column's height on
each render, and re-derived on viewport resize). Empty cells sit as
semi-transparent dashed outlines in the exact position a filled tile
would occupy, so the grid reads as one uniform surface; any empty cell
doubles as the "add link" surface and clicking it opens the Add-link
modal with that cell pre-pinned, so new links land exactly where the
click did instead of being pushed to the end. The dedicated "+" button
is gone — the pin-location is the click target. A "Theseus v0.3.X —
What's new" link appears under the search tip, pointing at
silentmode.st/releases; version comes from a new getVersion exposed on
window.home over the existing app-version IPC.

Chrome toolbar: 0.3.128's "give the searchbox more room while typing"
rule is removed — focusing the search field was pulling the drag handle
with it, which made the URL / search ratio impossible to set by hand.
The URL bar now caps at 75% of the pair's shared budget via a hard CSS
max-width (so a wide urlBarWidthPx stored under the old 80% ceiling
clamps on load without the user having to re-drag), and the drag floor
matches at 25 % so the search field always keeps at least a quarter of
the pair.

Claude connector: bumped bundled-addons/claude-connector from 0.2.0 to
0.2.1. The clients.cjs Store-install detection and the panel-access
work shipped in 0.3.129's bundled 0.2.0, but seedBundledAddons only
overwrites the installed copy when the bundle is strictly newer, so
every user with an existing 0.2.0 kept the stale pre-fix copy from
%APPDATA%/Theseus/extensions/claude-connector/. The version bump
surfaces the Store-install detection ("Claude Desktop not installed on
this computer" was false on every Microsoft Store install) and the
add-on-panel approvals split in the connector panel, both of which
were already in-tree but gated behind the version check.

a04775ad0d Claude connector panel: split site approvals from add-on-panel approvals
Site approvals and panel approvals share one allowedOrigins list on
disk because the policy is one SitePolicy either way, but on screen
they are two different things: a URL you signed in on versus an
Aegis sidebar panel you unlocked. The panel showed them in one mono
list under "Sites Claude may control", so an Aegis approval read as
"theseus-panel://aegis" with no label and no clue it was a panel at
all.

publicState() now splits allowedOrigins into allowedSites (web
origins) and allowedPanels (theseus-panel://<addon>, enriched with
the add-on's own title via api.tabControl.list()). The panel.html
renders them in their own sections: "Sites Claude may control" and
"Add-on panels Claude may control", the latter hidden when nothing
is approved. Each panel row shows the add-on title in bold with the
mono origin as a subtitle. The ✕ button goes through the existing
remove-origin IPC — removing either kind takes one call.

The renderer falls back to deriving the split from allowedOrigins so
a UI loaded against an older host still renders both sections.

baf86fc5a6 Claude connector: reach add-on sidebar panels (Aegis, Hermes, Pithos, …)
The connector only drove web pages. Add-on sidebar panels — Aegis's
wallet, Hermes's messenger, Pithos's storage panel, anything with
a sidebar-panel capability — were walled off: list_tabs skipped them
and webContents() refused anything that was not kind:"web".

Panels are now first-class tabs with a negative id, kind:"panel", and
an addon/panelId pair. Each open panel is listed next to the real
tabs; a closed one is still listed so a client can see what exists.
screenshot / snapshot / read_page_text / click / type / press_key /
paste_html / paste_text / wait_for / upload_file / evaluate all work
on them with the same TabDriver a web page uses. navigate /
activate_tab / close_tab refuse panels — the user owns panel
visibility, not the connector.

Approval is per add-on under a synthetic theseus-panel://<addon>
origin, so Aegis is approved once and every Aegis panel is reachable
from then on. The approval modal titles itself "Let Claude control
the Aegis panel?" when the origin is a panel origin, and the body
explains the panel is read, not the whole browser profile. Origin
pinning is skipped (the panel is served from the add-on scheme and
never navigates under us); password-field refusal and the action log
still apply, so a PIN input in a wallet panel is never typed into
and every call is in the connector's log.

1457de96b8 Claude connector: the left sidebar's web app (Telegram, WhatsApp, X, the AI chat) is tab 0
The quick-link panel is one WebContentsView outside `tabs`, so the
connector could not see a web app opened in the sidebar, and the
signed-in session there (Telegram's channel account, for one) was out of
reach. tabControl.list() now ends with the panel as tab 0 while it holds a
web page, tagged with the app's name; webContents, navigate, close and
activate handle it (activate reopens the panel, close closes it). It runs
the same preload as a web tab and still needs the site approved, so it
hands out nothing a tab doesn't. Listed last so it is never picked as the
active tab when a tool call omits tab_id.

d07f2ff757 Theseus 0.3.126: Claude connector detects Microsoft Store install of Claude Desktop
The Store install of Claude Desktop lives under
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Claude_<publisher-id>\, and its "AppData\Roaming"
is virtualised to LocalCache\Roaming inside that package. The classic
%APPDATA%\Claude\ folder is never read by the Store app, so a
claude_desktop_config.json dropped there is invisible to it; Theseus's
old existence check against path.dirname of that classic path was both
false-negative (nothing in classic, Store present) and false-positive
(empty classic folder left over, Store the real install) — the user saw
"Not installed on this computer" with Claude Desktop clearly running.

desktopConfigPath now looks for a Claude_<id> package first and uses
its LocalCache\Roaming\Claude path when present; otherwise it falls back
to the classic path. Added a desktopInstalled() helper that treats any
of: the config dir, a Store package, %LOCALAPPDATA%\AnthropicClaude,
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Claude, or Program Files\Claude as proof of an
install. register() mkdirSyncs the chosen path so the Store case
succeeds on first write.

f3a8d883e2 Theseus 0.3.125: Claude connector gets a simultaneous-session cap
New row in the connector panel: Simultaneous sessions. Three radios —
1 only / Multi / No limit — and a number input next to Multi for the
exact cap (clamped 1-100). Default stays at no limit, so existing users
see no behaviour change until they pick a value.

On the server side, initialize counts live sessions first (a GC pass over
expired ones runs so an abandoned tab doesn't permanently hold a slot)
and refuses any that would push past the cap with 429 and a message the
client surfaces to the user ("Theseus is at its simultaneous-session
cap (<N>). Disconnect a client, or raise the limit..."). Lowering the
cap below the live count is non-retroactive: no one gets kicked, but the
next connect fails until one goes away.

Settings surface widened: publicState() carries sessionLimit, and a new
set-session-limit message writes it (persisted in the add-on's storage
alongside token / port / allowEvaluate).

a920737c3c Claude connector 0.2.0: connect Claude Code and Claude Desktop from the panel
Setting the connector up meant copying a command with a token into a
terminal, and since 0.3.107 the token rotates whenever the connector
stops, so a configured client silently lost access after any extension
toggle and had to be set up again.

The panel now has a Connect button per app. Claude Code is registered
through its own CLI (claude mcp add-json, user scope), so its config is
written by Claude Code itself; Claude Desktop gets only the theseus entry
in claude_desktop_config.json, with a backup and no write to a file that
does not parse. Apps connected this way are re-registered after every
start and every Revoke when the address or token no longer matches. The
panel opens by itself the first time the extension is turned on. The
copy-a-command route stays under "Set up by hand".

7f70779f1c Theseus 0.3.107: two-section home + Claude connector hardening
Home page splits into two self-contained panels so the left-column
links no longer scale with the Silent Mode cards. The slot grid is
narrower, the icons default closer to Windows desktop-shortcut size,
and each section carries its own subtle panel background and heading.

Claude connector hardening (the opt-in MCP add-on from 0.3.106):

- Pin the approved origin to the TabDriver on every Controller.use()
and re-check the tab's current URL before each CDP read / input
(isolated, snapshot, screenshot, clickAt, insertText, press,
setFiles, evaluate). A meta-refresh or soft-nav to an unapproved
origin between approval and the call now throws instead of leaking
content or steering input to the new site.
- Rotate the bearer token on every stop() so toggling the connector
off (toolbar chip, panel switch, deactivate) invalidates existing
credentials. Re-enabling issues a fresh token; the panel's install
strings update on the next start. Matches the mental model where
"off" means "the keys change" instead of "the server stops".
- click without a ref now resolves the element at (x, y) through
  DOM.getNodeForLocation and refuses if it's a password / one-time-
code field. Previously only ref-based click ran isSecretField; raw
coordinates let focus land on a password field before FOCUS_GUARD
  kicked in to block typing.

c06557e957 Theseus: Claude connector, an opt-in MCP server for the signed-in profile
Claude sessions could not work inside the user's own profile: the desktop
app's browser lost synthetic pastes and typing in Medium's editor, and a
browser-wide --remote-debugging-port would hand every session to any local
process. The connector is a built-in extension, off until turned on in
Settings > Extensions, that serves MCP on 127.0.0.1 behind a per-install
token and drives one tab at a time through that tab's webContents.debugger.

- Host: a "tab-control" capability (built-in add-ons only) for listing,
opening, navigating, closing and focusing tabs, handing out web tabs'
webContents (never Settings, extension or home tabs), and a toolbar chip
plus tab outline while a client is connected; the chip's X stops it.
Built-in add-ons can ship "defaultEnabled": false.
- Tools: list_tabs, open_tab, navigate, activate_tab, close_tab, screenshot,
read_page_text, snapshot (accessibility tree with refs), click, type
  (insertText + real Enter), press_key, paste_html / paste_text (system
  clipboard + webContents.paste, clipboard restored), upload_file
(DOM.setFileInputFiles), wait_for, and evaluate behind its own switch.
- Safety: first use of each site asks the user; password and one-time-code
fields are refused; uploads only from folders the user added; requests
from web pages or foreign Host headers are refused; every action is
logged with a timestamp in the panel and actions.log.
- Claude Desktop runs stdio-shim.cjs through the Theseus executable in Node
  mode.
- Tests: unit (protocol, auth, policy, shim) and an end-to-end run on a
throwaway profile that types, pastes HTML with a heading and a link, and
uploads a PNG on a local page.
